OREAS 239c was prepared from a blend of gold ore sourced from the Fosterville Gold Mine in Victoria, Australia. The Fosterville material is representative of orogenic gold mineralisation hosted within the Lachlan Fold Belt and is characterised by quartz-vein-hosted gold mineralisation.
Barren hornfels and basalt materials were incorporated as matrix components to achieve the target gold concentration and provide a representative metasedimentary geological matrix.
