OREAS 305

OREAS 305 has been prepared from a blend of barren black slate and Zn-Pb-Ag ore, concentrate and tailings materials sourced from the Dugald River deposit, located in the Mt Isa Inlier, approximately 65 km north-west of Cloncurry in north-west Queensland, Australia. Pyrite was also added to adjust the sulphur content.

The Dugald River mineralisation is of SEDEX type and is dominated by sphalerite and galena with a gangue of graphitic slate, pyrrhotite and pyrite. The deposit is hosted within a sequence of upper greenschist to amphibolite facies metamorphic rocks comprising quartzite, schists, slates and dolomite.

OREAS 305 has been characterized using the following methods:

  • Major elements by oxidising fusion with XRF finish including Loss on Ignition (LOI) at 1000 °C
  • Lithium borate or sodium peroxide fusion with full suite elemental package by ICP-OES and/or MS finish
  • Full ICP-OES and ICP-MS elemental suites by 4-acid (HNO3-HF-HClO4-HCl) digestion
  • Full ICP-OES and ICP-MS elemental suites by aqua regia digestion
  • Total C and S by infrared combustion furnace

Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.

Note: Analyte values are indicative only and may change when certified.
