OREAS 308 has been prepared from a blend of barren black slate and Zn-Pb-Ag ore and concentrate materials sourced from Mount Isa in north-west Queensland, Australia, together with silver-bearing ore from the Bowdens deposit in New South Wales, Australia. Minor quantities of other Zn-Pb-Ag materials were also added to achieve target grades.
The Mount Isa Zn-Pb-Ag mineralisation is of sediment-hosted SEDEX type and comprises sphalerite and galena with pyrite and pyrrhotite. The orebodies are hosted within the Urquhart Shale Formation of the Mount Isa Group and are concordant with carbonaceous dolomitic sediments.
OREAS 308 has been characterized using the following methods:
Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.
