Mineralisation:
OREAS 309 has been prepared from a blend of barren black slate, Pb-Zn-Ag sulphide ore from the Elura deposit in New South Wales, Australia, Zn-Pb-Ag ore and concentrate materials from Mount Isa in north-west Queensland, Australia, and zinc concentrate from the Dugald River deposit, located approximately 65 km north-west of Cloncurry in north-west Queensland.
The Mount Isa Zn-Pb-Ag mineralisation is of sediment-hosted SEDEX type and comprises sphalerite and galena with pyrite and pyrrhotite. The orebodies are hosted within the Urquhart Shale Formation of the Mount Isa Group and are concordant with carbonaceous dolomitic sediments.
OREAS 309 has been characterized using the following methods:
Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.
