OREAS 935b

OREAS 935b has been prepared from a blend of copper ore sourced from Cobar in central western New South Wales, Australia, barren black slate and copper concentrate from the DeGrussa mine in Western Australia.

The Cobar copper mineralisation is structurally controlled and occurs within steeply dipping sulphide bodies hosted by sedimentary rocks of the Early Devonian Cobar Basin. The principal copper mineral is chalcopyrite, associated with pyrrhotite and pyrite. Chlorite and silica alteration are characteristic of the mineralised host rocks.

OREAS 935b has been characterized using the following methods:

  • Major elements by oxidising fusion with XRF finish including Loss on Ignition (LOI) at 1000 °C
  • Lithium borate or sodium peroxide fusion with full suite elemental package by ICP-OES and/or MS finish
  • Full ICP-OES and ICP-MS elemental suites by 4-acid (HNO3-HF-HClO4-HCl) digestion
  • Full ICP-OES and ICP-MS elemental suites by aqua regia digestion
  • Total S by infrared combustion furnace

Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.

Note: Analyte values are indicative only and may change when certified.
