OREAS 340

OREAS 340 was prepared from a slurry sample collected from the metallurgical processing plant at the Cannington Mine. The material represents the final tailings stream generated following the processing of silver–lead–zinc sulphide ore from the Cannington deposit. It consists predominantly of finely ground gangue minerals, with minor residual sulphide minerals remaining after flotation.

Eleven commercial analytical laboratories participated in the program to certify the elements reported below using the following methods:

  • Silver by 3-acid or aqua regia digestion with ICP-OES and ICP-MS finish
  • Oxidising fusion with X-ray fluorescence finish
  • Total C by IR combustion furnace
