OREAS 84 was prepared from a blend of high-grade, komatiite-hosted nickel-copper-cobalt sulphide ores sourced from the Leinster district, Western Australia, supplemented with PGE-bearing Merensky Reef ore and Cr-rich, PGE-bearing UG2 Reef ore from the Dishaba Mine, South Africa, and fresh gabbronorite sourced from the Black Hill Norite Complex, South Australia. OREAS 84 has been characterised using the following methods:
Certified values for applicable analytes are operationally defined for each method, with results under OREAS ISO 17034 scope of accreditation.
